Twelve walkers meet at the Woodhaugh Gardens , and headed to Karitane, parked in Stornoway Street close the “Karitane General Store” we headed off along side the Karitane Harbour and cribs, turned left after about 2km, where we walked along Merton Station Road and Apes Road for about 4km.We enjoyed the countryside, peacefulness and views along the way, passed the Puketeraki Marae in Apes Road along the way, shortly after the Puketeraki Marae we came across the Coast Road,walked along the Coast Road for 2km passing the Beach and Township along the way, walked 1.75 hours ( 8km) in very hot conditions.
